A Case of Henoch-Schonlein Purpura with Typical Ischemic Colitis

|
A case of Henoch-Schonlein syndrome is presented with a brief review of literatures. The male patient, 20 years old, admitted to SNUH with the chief complaints of abdominal pain, mucoid and bloody diarrhea. He had an episode of tonsillitis one week prior to admission with unknown medical treatment. Roentgenological examination of the large bowel showed typical pattern of ischemic colitis. All symptoms and signs were subsided with prednisolone therapy and all those including bowel changes were returned to normal after treatment.
